The main objective of this project was to validate the global “ACT” Framework developed to track attitudes and social norms around female genital mutilation (FGM) in Ethiopia. The results from this validation is expected to feed into future tasks of adapting ACT framework to local country contexts across the Joint Programme countries. Frontieri worked in collaboration with Drexel University in finalizing the sampling framework, organizing and conducting the pre-test, adapting the data collection tools, organizing and conducting the pilot testing of tools, cleaning, transcribing and translating of data, validating the final tools, and developing a report on the current situation of FGM using the data collected. Frontieri also organized Experts workshop (at the beginning of the project) and final Validation workshop to revise and finalize the project report. In addition, Frontieri developed a policy brief summarizing the key findings to inform discussion with decision makers.
