Frontieri Consult conducted a Gender Audit for Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture and Two Regional Agriculture Bureaus

The aim of this gender audit was to pave the way for the Ethiopian Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) to further advance gender transformation. The audit assessed gaps and opportunities for gender integration and ultimately made recommendations to support the organization. Covered in the gender report are Amhara and Sidama regional Bureaus of Agriculture and the MoA. This important audit, conducted by Frontieri Consult, examined the extent of gender integration at the specified areas considering organizational aspects, programmatic issues and partnership considerations.
At organizational level, staff attitude, perception and understanding concerning gender equality and staff reflection on gender equality were identified. It also focused on implementation of policies and strategies from a gender perspective, advocacy, human and financial resources, and organizational culture and leadership. The programmatic aspects, on the other hand, assessed program planning and design, program implementation, operational and recurrent activities, gender responsive budgeting, technical expertise, and monitoring and evaluation. In case of partnership, the audit evaluated the level of consideration and commitment given to gender equality both while selecting partners and local affiliates by MoA as well as while implementing programs and projects in collaboration with partners and local affiliates.
